Description

Euhedral carrollite crystals that partially or totally coated by black bornite of purple reflexes, and minor golden coloured chalcopyrite. Some uncoated carrollite crystals of octahedral habit exhibit a bright lustre and platina-white colour. The matrix is formed by white and grey dolomite. These old carrollites from Kambove were among the world-best until the Kamoya finds of the 1990’s.

Collected at the locality by René Virlet, a Belgian colonist in Congo who travel back definitively to Belgium in 1968. It comes with a handwritten label from Mr. Virlet.
