Description

A "shell" blue grey matrix of galena-tennantite is covered with an irridescent druze of brownish smithsonite in little stacks of nearly lenticular crystals.

Over the surface are gemmy isolated individual crystals of cerussite with excellent twinning and squat crystal form.

Each of the cerussite crystals has super glassy lustre.

The sulphide matrix has also given rise to some pale blue and white microcrystalline secondary mineral at the edges, also as micro green balls (malachite?) and blue (cyanotrichite?) on some of the other crystals.

A few minor nicks to one overhanging crystal and a tiny cleaved cerussite at one edge. Nevertheless a fine and unusual cabinet piece.
