Description

Excellent collection specimen with countless green tabular torbernite crystals high in contrast on dark matrix. Nearly the whole frontside of the specimen is covered with crystals. This includes three collection labels as shown. One highlight is the historical collection label, which belongs to the museum in Stockholm (capital of Sweden). The label is beautifully handwritten with a flat pen (here Redruth is given as the place of discovery, which fully corresponded to the earlier location data. Redruth is about 3 km north of the exact location). Subsequently, the specimen came into the collection of C. G. Bailey (UK) and from there into the collection of G. Backmann (Germany). An excellent collector's specimen with beautiful, partly historical labels.
