Calcite & Duftite

Fine and large specimen completely covered with colourless calcite crystals. In addition, countless bright green duftite crystals are present on the calcite crystals. This a typical mineral association. The area covered by crystals measures around 8.5 x 7.5 centimetres. Large and beautiful specimen.

Ex. Paul SAINFELD specimen. Sainfeld (Sainfeldite was named after in honour of him) was a mineralogist and worked at the famous mineral exhibition Ecole des Mines in Paris, France.

Important note: The specimens are from the renowned collection of Dr. Gerhard JUNG (Hagendorf specialist, after whom the mineral Jungite was named). Dr. Jung was very meticulous regarding the provenance of his pieces. The previous owner is often noted - it is noticeable that Dr. Jung apparently had good contacts with the famous Tsumeb collectors Walter Richard KAHN (Warikahnite) and Wolfgang BARTELKE (Bartelkeite) from the early 1970s to the late 1980s. Many of the pieces originally came from the hands of the aforementioned pioneers. The specimens of the JUNG collection with first-class and documented provenience are presented here.
