Tsumcorite

First-class specimen richly decorated with yellow-brown tsumcorite crystals. The tsumcorite crystal show the typical colour and habitus covering more or less the whole front side of the specimen. The tsumcorite crystals covering an area of around 7 x 5 centimetres. In association with some deep blue azurite aggregates. This is a high-quality specimen of remarkable size and extremely rich decoration.

Tsumcorite is a type locality mineral in Tsumeb Mine. It is named after its type locality, the Tsumeb Corporation (Tsumcor) mine.

Important note: The specimens are from the renowned collection of Dr. Gerhard JUNG (Hagendorf specialist, after whom the mineral Jungite was named). Dr. Jung was very meticulous regarding the provenance of his pieces. The previous owner is often noted - it is noticeable that Dr. Jung apparently had good contacts with the famous Tsumeb collectors Walter Richard KAHN (Warikahnite) and Wolfgang BARTELKE (Bartelkeite) from the early 1970s to the late 1980s. Many of the pieces originally came from the hands of the aforementioned pioneers. The specimens of the JUNG collection with first-class and documented provenience are presented here.
