Description

A real classic from the West Cumbrian iron ore field: Massive specimen of botryoidal hematite var kidney ore. Very smooth surface and nice luster.

Dark color becoming red when front-lightned - that's why such specimens were sold as "Blutstein" (blood stone) in Austria.

From old collection with label on the back.
