Description

In this case, the historical label of Julius Böhm and the old little bottle are probably more important than the minerals themselves.

2 small dioptase crystals with size 0.8 and 0.7 cm are located in the very old and labelled pipette. (the measurements in the offer describe the size of the pipette)

Julius Böhm started his business at the end of the 19th century (the "Austro-Hungarian Mineralien Comptoir"). By purchasing historical mineral collections, he gained a good reputation worldwide and opened a famous mineral shop in the 1st district of the city of Vienna.

After his death, the business was continued by Elias Gabriel until it had to be closed shortly before the Second World War in 1938.

The term "Kirghisensteppe" is a very old name for the steppe of Kazakhstan, which was used to identify the historical Altyn-Tyube Deposit as the discovery area.
Based on the writing type they were probably sold after the First World War.

We have acquired some pieces with old find labels, which we will gradually add to auctions here.
