Description

This is truly an extraordinary specimen from ancient (dates back to Roman times) iron mine Hüttenberg.

The specimen shows a three-dimensional assemble of intergrown calcite-scalenohedrons coated with blue and unusually transparent chalcedony. So you can still see the calcite below.

On typical matrix with calcite and siderite.
This specimen has very detailed location description: "Revier Lölling, Feld IV Ost, Juliuslager, Höhe 30m Sohle"

Hüttenberg mining stopped in 1978 and is now a tourist mine.
