Description

Rare aerinite from the classic localities of the Spanish Pyrenees (Huesca / Lleida). This mineral is well known for its characteristic sky-blue color, reflected in its name (Greek “aerinos” = sky blue). Aerinite was first discovered in situ in 1882 by Luis Mariano Vidal in Caserras del Castillo (now Estopiñán del Castillo, Huesca). A highly desirable collector’s mineral due to its rarity and historical significance.
