Description

A large azurite crystal which has altered to malachite with chatoyant-effect.

Some of the smaller azurite crystals are showing a partial pseudomorphose to malachite.

One of the cerussite crystals has some beautiful inclusions of azurite in it.

I obtained this specimen from an old German collector who had connections at that time with Dr. Bruno H. Geier from whom he allegedly bought this piece.
Dr. Bruno Geier was the chief mineralogist of the Tsumeb Corporation Ltd between 1952 and 1972 and had a mineral named after him (Brunogeierite).
