Description

Black crystalline brannerite in calcite, with a very well developed and complex crystal, from a one-time find made in 2016 in a quarry in upper Savoie. Minute, silvery gersdorffite crystals add to this peculiar mineralization. A very mild acid washing was applied to single out the brannerite crystals, most of which are completely calcite-embedded.
