Description

Exquisite Aragonite Twin Cluster – Minglanilla, Spain.
​This is a superb display specimen featuring an interpenetrant twin of two distinct aragonite crystals from the world-renowned locality of Minglanilla, Cuenca, Castile-La Mancha, Spain. This site is a classic European locality, famous for producing some of the most iconic "pseudo-hexagonal" aragonite twins in the mineral world.
​This specimen showcases the characteristic cyclic twinning that creates a sharp, hexagonal profile. The cluster consists of two well-formed crystals in a dynamic structural arrangement. The primary crystal reaches a significant size of 3.1 cm, showing excellent form and structural integrity.
​The colouration is a classic light brownish-tan, resulting from the characteristic inclusion of the surrounding Triassic Keuper marl/clay matrix during crystal growth. In direct light, the specimen has translucent edges, a clear luster, and sharp crystal faces.
