Description

Tennantite-(Fe) is a sulfide mineral from the tennantite group, in which iron (Fe) partially replaces copper in the crystal lattice. It forms hydrothermally at moderate temperatures and usually occurs together with other sulfides such as arsenopyrite, chalcopyrite, or sphalerite. Characteristically, it forms metallic-lustrous, gray to steel-gray, isometric crystals, often in granular or massive aggregates. Here, tennantite-(Fe) forms a black metallic crystal in calcite.
