Description

Cancrisilite is a very rare silicate mineral belonging to the pyroxene or feldspar group (classified as an aluminosilicate depending on the source). It consists mainly of potassium, sodium, aluminum, silicon, and oxygen. Cancrisilite usually forms in alkaline, volcanic, or metasomatic rocks and typically occurs as small, prismatic or granular crystals. It is usually pale violet in color.
