Description

The mineral was named after the German geologist Oscar Schmieder (1891–1980), who was a professor at the University of Córdoba in Argentina and researched the geography of South America. Schmiederite is a rare lead-copper-selenate-tellurate mineral with a complex chemical formula. It forms pale blue crystals on matrix.
