Description

Well-developed yellow-green tavorite crystals occur on a dark pegmatitic matrix, accompanied by hureaulite, from the Sandamap Pegmatite (Sandamap North Farm 115) in the Erongo Region of Namibia. The tavorite forms sharp, translucent to transparent crystals with a vitreous luster, providing strong contrast against the darker matrix minerals.

Hureaulite is a known and documented associated phosphate mineral at the Sandamap pegmatite, occurring here as granular to crystalline material closely intergrown with tavorite. This assemblage is typical for complex phosphate-rich pegmatites of the Erongo region.

The specimen represents a rare phosphate association from a classic Namibian pegmatite locality, combining aesthetic crystal development with mineralogical significance.
