Description

Two specimens consisting of dark grey, amorphous masses of wittichenite from an unspecified location in Saxony.

Comes with beautiful old label and on-glued corresponding number sticker from the former collection of metallurgical plant director Dr. O. Schmidt, Bergisch-Gladbach, Germany. He deaceased 1923 or 1924, the collection (appr. 1200 specimens) was sold to the city of Bergisch-Gladbach in 1925, used as teaching resources in a secondary school then. 
In 2016, after several movements, the remainders of the collection were sold to in order to support the city's fossil collection. 

Wittichit = wittichenite, Dana 6th, 128 (1892).

The size is given for the larger specimen, the size of the smaller one is 1.2 x 2.8 x 1.5 cm.
