Description

Here we have a fine garnet crystal, an almandine variety, from the Zillertal. Although the crystal is not large in size, it shows exceptional quality for this classic Austrian locality. The crystal is sharply defined with well-developed faces and a strong natural luster. An intense red coloration combined with notable translucency gives the specimen a striking visual presence. A high-quality Austrian almandine that represents garnet occurrences from the Zillertal very well.
