Description

A well preserved tooth of a cave bear from the famous Gamssulzenhöhle in Upper Austria. Cave bear remains from this locality are known from Pleistocene cave deposits and represent an important part of the region’s Ice Age fauna.

The tooth measures an impressive 53 mm in length and shows excellent preservation. Both the enamel and the natural coloration are well retained, allowing the characteristic shape and structure of the tooth to be clearly visible.

Specimens of cave bear from this classic Austrian cave locality are not frequently available on the market. This example represents a very attractive and well preserved fossil from the Ice Age of the Alpine region.
