Description

Very good marine blue sodalite from the syenite of Hiassu (Brazil), that present some transparency if backlighted. This material is usually found as lapidary specimens, but unpolished specimens are relatively scarce. The trade name is called “Bahia Blue” and it is formed from a syenite intrusion, an igneous rock that do not has modal quartz.

Ex Lucien Jusgen specimen, who bought it at the Brussels, on December 17th/1981.
