Description

Black metallic Selenium-rich digenite matrix that holds cavities richly lined by deep blue chalcomenite crystals. They are super gemmy, well formed, lustrous and perfectly terminated. Some clusters of olive green demesmaekerite crystals are also present.

A representative example of this copper-selenide that was found before 1985 by Joseph Lhoest, a Belgian doctor who worked in DR of Congo for many years, and it is well known for his early 1990’s articles about Congo in journals such as The Mineralogical Record or Lapis. Ex Joseph Lhoest specimen.
