Description

A classic Japanese specimen from the Ugo prefecture, now Akita, featuring a cluster of golden coloured chalcopyrite crystals, coated by dull black bornite and some lustrous pyrite crystals that are not coated. Highly classic sought-after sample of which I’m told that it is likely from one of the Ani mines.

Specimen acquired in 1973. Ex Ghislaine De Jonghe #1407, who built her collection from early 1960’s to early 2000’s.
