Description

Very interesting piece of a grey brecciated slate rock cemented by white rounded aggregates of calcite and brown lustrous sphalerite. The texture of this ore is quite attractive, forming rings, and that is why such rocks were known by miners as “Ringelerz”. Very rare and didactic piece, that I have seen only in collections of Museums. A 0.5 Kg sample that has numerous numbers on it, evidencing the pass through different collections.

Acquired in 01/12/2019 to Rik Dillen. Ex Gustaaf collection #1454, with his handwritten label.
