Mixed Minerals

3 minerals from France, from different collections, with the corresponding labels.

These are:

1-Cordierite Var Pinite, from Charbonnières-les-Vieilles, Puy-de-Dôme 103g 69x55x38:

Prismatic crystal of cordierite replaced by a mix of clay minerals (type illite) known as “pinite”, on a pink porphyry matrix. The main crystal is perfectly flat terminated and free of damages. It is from the classic French locality at the Puy-de-Dôme (Auvergne). Acquired in 26/08/1986 to René Falchier. Ex Gustaaf Decaluwé #712.

2- Tunisite, from Condorcet, Drôme, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France 26g 46x35x23:

Gorgeous specimen with tens of colourless translucent aggregates of razor-sharp tunisite crystals on a matrix with pale yellow pointed scalenohedral calcite crystals. Ex Rik Dillen collection.

3- Calcite, from the Stinkal quarry, Ferques, Boulogne-sur-Mer, Pas-de-Calais, Hauts-de-France, France 46g 68x30x28:

Pale yellow acute scalenohedral calcite crystals on matrix. Rare material from this uncommon quarry of the Pas-de-Calais, where collecting is not permitted. Acquired in 26/6/1982. Ex Gustaf collection #978, with his handwritten label.
