Description

Single tabular prismatic crystal of transparent selenite with some clay inclusions, collected in the clay pits of Niel, situated along the River Rupel. The quarry exploited clay deposits of late Rupelian age (Boom Clay Formation). Under long and short UV it shows a nice hourglass distributed fluorescence.

Collected around 1980 by RL, Ex Richard Loyens collection.
