Description

Rich aggregate of elongated, doubly terminated spiky yellow crystals of native sulphur on matrix. Part of the native sulphur form also fibrous aggregates here. Typical specimen formed by deposition (or reverse sublimation), when S-rich fumaroles pass to solid state. Good representative specimen from this super classic solfatara.

Obtained before 1979 from the gids during a visit by Mr. Gustaf, specimen #1457, with his handwritten label.
