Description

Floater cluster of well-formed quartz crystals with intense etched faces, forming a nice corroded sample. The terminations looks like broken, but under magnification shows no damages at all. It has numerous micro inclusions of red crystals, likely hematite. Corroded quartz is not a growth form but the result of partial or preferential dissolution of previously formed crystals.

Acquired before 1986. Ex Gustaf collection #964, with his handwritten label.
