Description

Excellent sharp, undamaged crystal of brownish-red Monazite-(Ce) from a new discovery in Kwara State, Nigeria. These crystals have been analyzed and are unusually rich is Samarium (up to 11 wt%, with an average of close to 8-9 wt%!) and almost thorium-free... very unusual chemistry for monazite crystals of this type. Rare!
