Description

Possibly one of the oddest specimens in this auction, this canary yellow valentinite comes as powdery mass on matrix.
Valentinite from this obscure Greek locality is extremely rare and, while not the prettiest of all Greek rocks, it is by far one the rarest bits I have recently come across.
The current specimen comes from a defunct Italian collector, who got it from a German-speaking collector (DACH area) and the rock is easily dated to the pre-1960s.
