Description

Rich specimen fully lined with dozens of wurtzite crystals, very lustrous and often transparent. Wurtzite makes a pagoda shaped habitus, which is a rather classic shape especially in the mine of Agios Philippos. One of the richest I have ever had for sale.

Agios Philippos can be declared a defunct locality, as the mine is closed and the open pit is partly filled with acidic waters. The specimen was self collected in summer 2014, while retrieving data and specimens for an article I published in the Rivista Mineralogica Italiana 4/2014 with some friends. Specimens like that are to be considered among the last available from the locality.
