Description

This thin slab of sandstone that came off a wall in an abandoned Uranium mine near Green River, Utah. The minerals are tricky. It is very UV reactive. There are fragile needles that appear like well crystallized Uranophane. There are other crystals present as well. I am calling it Andersonite and Uranophane for the for the sake of listing it but it is unanalyzed and could be a number of interesting UV reactive U minerals. Very thin and delicate. A wonderful piece to display in your UV reactive portion of your Uranium mineral display.

Seller's terms and conditions

Research proper handling of radioactive minerals prior to ordering. Common courtesy would imply that one inform roommates, parents, landlord, etc. of such material being present in the home. Accidents do happen during shipping. For extra delicate and expensive specimens, we sometimes provide and recommend the option for an increased insurance level on the shipping whenever possible in order to cover any damages. Extra insurance is available upon request and must be expressed upon the payment of the invoice. We do not accept returns. Be certain you want the specimen you are bidding on. We take as many pictures as possible and include accurate measurements, weight, and descriptions. Pay attention to the description. We are a very small family business so we simply cannot absorb the loss of time and money that it takes to process a return. If something breaks during shipment, it is the buyers responsibility to file a claim with the shipping company. We take pictures of everything we send and the condition it is in. If a specimen arrives broken, take many pictures and have proof of the amount paid to seek reimbursement from shipping company. International is not covered by insurance unless by request. If there is a question regarding these policies or about a mineral sample, we are open to all communication and will usually respond within 24 hours whenever possible. Readings for Radioactive Minerals are taken with a scintillator device. Radiacode 103 scintillator device is placed on the specimen to read the highest area of activity. This reading can vary greatly with other instruments. Cheap Geiger counters will read significantly less. UV minerals are pictured with a 365 nm UV light. Regular 295 nm black lights may not cause the same glowing reaction. Standard pictures are under natural or white led lights.
