Description

Outstanding micromount featuring well-developed graphite crystals from the famous Namib Lead Mine, Namibia. The crystals occur as thick tabular to lamellar plates, sometimes stacked or intergrown, with broad, flat faces displaying numerous natural striations and growth lines.
The color ranges from steel gray to deep black, with a satin to bright metallic luster, occasionally enhanced by subtle iridescent reflections under angled light. Some crystal faces show clean cleavage planes, adding a strong graphic character to the specimen.
The crystals are well individualized and clearly visible, forming a dense yet well-balanced aggregate. The matrix is minimal, allowing full appreciation of the crystal morphology and surface textures of the graphite.
A highly aesthetic and representative specimen from this classic locality, perfect for micromineral collections, African mineral displays, and macro photography.
