Description

Very attractive micromount featuring a well-isolated cuprite crystal delicately set on a fibrous blue-green malachite matrix, from the classic locality of New Cliff Hill, UK
The cuprite occurs as a sharp polyhedral crystal, close to octahedral, with flat, well-developed faces and crisp edges. Its color ranges from deep red to reddish-brown, with partial transparency and an adamantine to submetallic luster that reflects light beautifully. The crystal is clearly visible and well separated from the matrix.
Malachite forms a dense coating of fine acicular crystals, displaying a turquoise to bluish-green color and a silky texture. This association creates a striking chromatic contrast between the deep red cuprite and the vivid green malachite, greatly enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the specimen.
A well-balanced and highly decorative piece, particularly sought after in British micromineral collections, ideal for specialized collections, UK locality displays, and macro photography.
