Description

Outstanding micromount of pseudomalachite from the Dos Adrianas copper deposit in Chile, a classic locality for highly aesthetic secondary copper phosphates.
The specimen displays several spheroidal rosettes made of tightly stacked platy crystals arranged in concentric growth, forming compact spiral or cauliflower-like structures. The color ranges from deep emerald green to very dark green, locally appearing almost black due to the thickness of the crystal aggregates, with brighter green highlights along the edges.
The crystal surfaces show a submetallic to vitreous luster, with fine growth steps producing a striking, architectural texture. The aggregates are set on a reddish-brown iron-oxide-rich matrix typical of the oxidation zones of Chilean copper deposits, providing a strong visual contrast that enhances the intense green coloration.
