Description

Outstanding micromineral specimen featuring a vivid scarlet-red lamellar crystal of ambrinoite embedded in a pale, saccharoidal matrix, accompanied by greenish-yellow patches attributable to orpiment. Ambrinoite, an extremely rare arsenic sulfosalt, is represented here by well-individualized flakes showing strong subadamantine luster and striking color contrast against the translucent host and the surrounding orpiment.

The sharp crystal definition, exceptional color saturation and typical arsenic-rich paragenesis give this specimen both high scientific relevance and strong aesthetic appeal. The Signols locality (Italy) is known among specialists for yielding rare secondary arsenic minerals formed in late-stage, low-temperature hydrothermal environments.
