Description

Attractive zincite micromount from the classic locality of Arnsberg (North Rhine–Westphalia, Germany), a well-known German area among micromount collectors for zinc-rich secondary mineral assemblages and uncommon European zincite specimens.

The piece displays a bright lemon-yellow to honey-yellow crystallisation, distinctly translucent, with crystals showing a tabular to short-prismatic habit. The individuals exhibit sharp edges and well-developed flat reflective faces, and several crystals are intergrown, creating a very readable geometry under magnification. Light easily penetrates the thinner sections, producing the characteristic internal glow seen in well-crystallised zincite.

In a box 2.8x2.8cm, labelled

FoV : 2.8cm
