Greifensteinite

Excellent micromount specimen featuring Greifensteinite, a rare hydrated iron–beryllium phosphate, from the classic Estes Quarry (Maine, USA) — a well-known locality for complex secondary phosphates.

The Greifensteinite occurs as dense drusy aggregates of honey-yellow to yellow-brown microcrystals, forming a sparkling coating along the margins of a small cavity. The crystals show a vitreous to resinous luster, with attractive translucency and a well-developed granular habit typical of the species in this occurrence.

The specimen sits on a contrasting white phosphate-rich matrix, enhancing the color saturation and making the yellow druse stand out very nicely under magnification.

A highly desirable piece for collectors specialized in rare phosphates, New England pegmatite minerals, and documented provenance specimens.
