Guilleminite

Outstanding specimen of guilleminite from the famous Musonoi Mine near Kolwezi in the Congolese Copperbelt, a world-class locality known for exceptional secondary uranium and copper minerals.

The specimen displays beautiful acicular crystals of guilleminite with an intense bright yellow coloration, forming delicate sprays and radiating clusters of very slender prismatic crystals. These crystals grow inside small cavities of the matrix, producing elegant radial aggregates with a bright vitreous luster.

The vibrant yellow crystals are beautifully contrasted by a carpet of blue-green to turquoise microcrystals, likely secondary copper phosphates or sulfates, creating a striking and highly aesthetic color association. Additional white microcrystalline areas and iron-rich zones further enhance the visual complexity of the specimen.

The matrix shows the characteristic texture of oxidation zones from the Musonoi deposit, with numerous microcrystalline coatings and mineral associations typical of this famous locality.
