Description

Variscite from Montcada quarry is a Catalan classic for this species. These samples were collected when quarry was working, now the quarry has been refilled with debris.
This specimen shows a very interesting breccia formed by black shales cemented by phosphates. In the beggining we thought that white mineral was crandallite, but our recent XRD analysis has shown only the presence of variscite and strengite. Good sized and different specimen for the locality. We will send analysis to the buyer.
