Description

The specimen consists of an aggregate botryoidal formation of stellate spiky balls of scalenohedron calcite. In their smallest form the spiky balls look like sea urchins. The botryoidal appearance is very regular with the formation wrapping around even along the perimeter of the underside. The matrix is made up of brecchiated ironstone which is covered by very fine rounded elongate growths that taper towards a rounded point and behaving like caryopilite.
