Description

An exceptional locality specimen of kermesite from Type locality at Bräunsdorf, Germany.

The specimen comprises a quartz and sulphide rich matrix with a central display pocket lined with white elongated doubly terminated quartz crystals and a fine assemblage of brush like divergent needles of metallic red-pink kermesite branching across the various spaces within the pocket.

The specimen is very rich very well crystallised and very aesthetic.

The piece has a pasted label giving provenance as having come from W F Davidson to R J King and acquired by Roger Harker in 1973.

Robert (Bob) J. King (1923–2013) was a distinguished British mineralogist and curator at the University of Leicester. He founded the Russell Society in 1972 and assembled a world-class collection of over 9,000 specimens, now preserved at the National Museum of Wales. The rare copper mineral bobkingite was named in his honour

William Francis Davidson (1907–2002) was a prominent British mineral dealer and naturalist based in Penrith, Cumberland. He was a key supplier of Lake District and Pennine minerals to museums and collectors worldwide during the mid-20th century. He co-authored the significant 1951 paper "Some notes on the minerals of Cumberland and Westmorland" with N. Thomson.

PAYMENTS: All transactions must be in UK Pounds, US Dollars, or Euros.

Preferred payment is via PayPal, we also take credit/debit card payments via PayPal Merchant Services all available and secure via e-Rocks invoice payments.

Transactions are between Buyers and Sellers on e-Rocks using PayPal are covered by PayPal's Buyer/Seller Protection - subject to their Terms & Conditions.

Under PayPal's terms, we reserve the right to use your registered PayPal address only as delivery address. Please check with us before bidding/buying if you wish to have an item shipped to another address.

UK payments can also be made offline or via interbank electronic transfer, we will supply details if that is your preference.

SHIPPING: Please refer to shipping costs quoted on individual items and shipping policy section on the item page. All shipping costs subject to prevailing UK Royal Mail rates, which might change.

Shipping costs will economise when 2 or more specimens are purchased together.

EXPORTS: Please note that all shipments originate in GB - shipments to Northern Ireland, EU and other countries will be classed as export from GB.

We will make appropriate export customs declaration with the shipment however buyers will be responsible for any import charges levied at your country border.

If applicable; these will vary according to the destination - applicable charge rates should be available by checking import charge thresholds and also checking CN code 9705000090 (collectable mineral specimens) on your own Government Customs website.

FOR ALL CUSTOMERS: Once we receive your payment we'll package up the specimen(s) and send them within 5 days – unless you request a Shipping Hold.

RETURNS: If you receive anything you do not like you have a 10-day approval and right to return a specimen(s).

Please notify us immediately (but within the 10 days) and send it back if it arrives damaged or if you are not otherwise happy with what you have been sent. Once we have received the returned specimen in the condition it was sent we will return your money plus your return costs (limited to postage).
This policy applies to every specimen we supply but please within the 10-day approval period!!

Our intention is only to supply material with 100% customer satisfaction.

If a specimen is not back with us after 15 days (allowing 5 days for UK return shipping) of receipt of the specimen, We will assume that you are intending to keep the specimen and the transaction will become final.

US, European and Worldwide customers wishing to return specimens will have a longer period allowed for shipping depending on their location. However we must be notified of your intention to return a specimen within 10 days of receiving it however.

Please Note: From outside GB Customs Declaration CN22 must be completed "Goods Return to Vendor" with CN code 9705000090.
