Description

This is a single piece of amber from the former Goitsche lignite opencast mine near Bitterfeld in Saxony-Anhalt. The amber is Brackish. This is a succinite containing massive amounts of detritus. It could also be described as forest soil saturated with resin. The piece is about 40 million years old.
