Description

German ore specimen labelled as "christophite", a synonym of marmatite, the black iron-rich variety of sphalerite, from the St. Christoph Mine, Breitenbrunn, Erzgebirge, from where it has its name. The christophite forms a black fine- to coarse-grained, jagged band between golden chalcopyrite on top and bright pyrite beneath. Dark green brochantite is associated, too.
