Charleshatchettite

About

Named in honor of Charles Hatchett (2 January 1765, London, UK – 10 March 1847, Chelsea, London, UK), chemist who discovered the element niobium.

Related to franconite and hochelagaite. Chemically similar to hochelagaite, but is distinguished from hochelagaite by its powder X‑ray diffraction patterns.
Charleshatchettite is a late-stage mineral, interpreted to have developed through the interaction of low-T (<150 °C) aqueous fluids with an alkali-, Nb-rich precursor under slightly reducing conditions and a highly alkaline pH (Haring et al. 2017)
