Peter Uerpmann originally studied mining at Clausthal University of Technology and then followed a career in the German/European Nuclear Power Industry in the construction of reactors/cooling systems.
His mineral collecting was founded in his earlier training/life and he collected until he retired from work and relocated to Alicante in southern Spain in 2002.
Over the years he amassed a collection of some 3000 pieces, with around 600 pieces from Tsumeb, many acquired through his friendship with Georg Gebhard.
Once retired and living on his yacht in the Mediterranean his minerals went into storage; until 2016 when Peter sold the entire collection to TVM.
