Description

Large veszelyite specimen from a new discovery in Central Bosnia with hundreds of sharp pseudo-octahedral crystals measuring up to 1 mm. Veszelyite crystals are evenly distributed over the top of saccharoidal dolomite host rock. All crystals are lustrous and sharp.

The old locality, known under the name Zdravo Vrelo (Health Spring) was rediscovered in 2020 by a local mineral collector Jozo Puljić from Kreševo. They were analyzed by XRD and EDS and the analyses confirmed that the blue-green crystals are veszelyite. The largest veszelyite crystals found on this occasion were 7 mm long, which makes this locality highly competitive with other veszelyite localities in the World.
