Description

Fe-sulfide nodule encrusted by pyrite crystals from Pakistan. Clusters of pyrite are grown on the surface of melnikovite-pyrite nodules. Pyrite crystals have a stepped octahedral form with rounded cube faces on the edges of octahedra. The boundary between the primary fine-crystalline nodule and the coarsely crystallized pyrite is seen by a layer of black organic material, that is still present on the specimen.
