Description

Tourmaline is a rare find in Alpine-type clefts. Habachtal and Untersulzbachtal have long been known for limited finds of black tourmaline in association with white pericline. The best finds were made by local collector Kurt Nowak from Wald. Here is one thumbnail with tourmaline needles perched on top of pericline crystal. I have not analyzed them, but in the backlight the tourmaline is reddish-brown.
