Description

Kenngottite is a very rare MnFe-Phosphate mineral only known from two localities so far.
In the recently published paper of Keck et al in the European Journal of Mineralogy the mineral is now also described from the Hagendorf pegmatite.

Kenngottite occurs as sprays and clumps of yellow-green laths which
contain sub-parallel clusters of fine needles or free-standing yellowish to olive-brown needles up to 0.5 mm on manganrockbridgeite.

The mineral is associated by pink hureaulite crystals and platelets of hematite.

Kenngottite is very rare at the Hagendorf Pegmatite and only known in very few specimens so far.

The recently published paper is available for the buyer on request.
