Description

A classic and highly aesthetic section of Schalenblende, a rhythmic intergrowth of sphalerite, wurtzite, and galena. This specimen displays exquisite, concentric banding in a sophisticated palette of cream, honey-brown, and dark chocolate hues. These bands represent successive pulses of mineral-rich hydrothermal fluids depositing layers within the karst cavities of the Triassic dolomites.

The polished face reveals the intricate, wood-like textures that are world-renowned for this locality. The central part of the specimen transitions into a more massive, metallic grey phase (galena/sphalerite), providing a sharp industrial contrast to the delicate organic-looking patterns of the outer layers.
